Savor the Lowcountry Food Tours

Tuesdays and Thursdays April thru November

Take a walking culinary tour of some of Hilton Head's best dining spots and meet the chefs and restaurateurs. Along the way you will learn about our island's rich history. Savor the Lowcountry; a fun and flavorful food tour! Join us as we Savor the Lowcountry every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. Our fun and flavorful food tours take you on a strolling culinary adventure. We visit 5 different eateries and sample some of the best food on the island. We meet the chefs and restaurateurs who have made Hilton Head Island a food lover's paradise. Along our route we explore our rich history and treat you to fun facts about how Hilton Head evolved into the wonderful resort community that it is today. Robert Trent Jones Free Golf Demonstration

Each Monday afternoon, Doug Weaver conducts a free, 45-minute golf clinic and demonstration entitled "Where Does the Power Come From?" at the Jones Golf Center. Golfers are encouraged to ask questions during the hands-on, fully interactive class. The audience size is unlimited. Family Fishing

Wednesdays – Ongoing Throughout Year 

Spend a morning learning how to throw a cast net, cast a line and catch a crab in the marshes of Jarvis Creek. Led by an experienced fisherman, this family oriented program is hands on and fun for all ages. Find out about many of the creatures that live in our salt marshes and what's the best way to catch them. $20 per person. Reservations are required.

Salt Marsh Discovery

Fridays - Ongoing Throughout Year

As one of the most productive environments on the planet, the Salt Marsh functions as a filter and nursery for the coast. On this hands on tour, you will see live oysters, crabs and shrimp up-close. You will learn how to trap and harvest blue crabs, how marsh plants adapt to the salt water, and why we should protect this interesting ecosystem from a docent at the Coastal Discovery Museum. Reservations required.

Exploring Pinckney Island

Thursdays -  Ongoing Throughout Year

A brief historical and natural history overview led by a Docent with the Coastal Discovery Museum will be followed by a walking tour of this National Wildlife Refuge including salt marsh and maritime forest. Wildlife may include variety of birds, alligators and marsh inhabitants. Reservations required.

Public Art Exhibition

October 1 – December 31, 2014

Join the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry this fall for The Public Art Exhibition on Hilton Head Island, to be held on the beautiful grounds of the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. The Coastal Discovery Museum will be open Monday through Saturday, 9:00am - 4:30pm and Sundays 11:00am - 3:00pm. The Public Art Exhibition will run September 24 – December 31, 2013 and will showcase 20 www.hhipublicart.org/
