Join us as we Savor the Lowcountry every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. Our fun and flavorful food tours take you on a strolling culinary adventure. We visit 5 different eateries and sample some of the best food on the island. We meet the chefs and restaurateurs who have made Hilton Head Island a food lover's paradise. Along our route we explore our rich history and treat you to fun facts about how Hilton Head evolved into the wonderful resort community that it is today. As one of the most productive environments on the planet, the Salt Marsh functions as a filter and Nursery for the coast. During this hands on tour at the Coastal Discovery Museum, you will see live oysters, crabs and shrimp up-close.

A brief historical and natural history overview is given followed by a walking tour of this National Wildlife Refuge, including salt marsh and maritime forest. Wildlife may include variety of birds, alligators and marsh inhabitants.

Ongoing Throughout Season

This fun, interactive family program, led by a professional archaeologist will introduce you to the field of archaeology. Turtle Talks and Walks

Tuesdays and Thursdays - Ongoing Throughout Summer

An evening lecture and beach walk, with staff from the Coastal Discovery Museum, to educate participants about the threatened loggerhead sea turtle. Presentation given to entire group, then 2 groups of 10 proceed to the beach to examine the nesting habitat and nest sites. No guarantee of turtle sightings. No children under 4. HarbourFest 2014 - Fireworks Display

Harbourfest 2014: Bring the whole family down for Hilton Head’s summer Harbourfest! From June through September, Shelter Cove features live entertainment seven nights a week, plus unforgettable food, arts and crafts, fireworks and a flurry of activity. There is no admission charge for HarbourFest. Fireworks start at dusk June - August. This is an event you don’t want to miss! Shelter Cove from 6-9:30p.m.
