The Charleston Chamber Orchestra presents Time Machine: Mozart in Prague at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina in the Elizabeth Wallace Theatre at 8:00PM. Mozart was much celebrated in the city of Prague and in return dedicated some of his greatest works to the "City of a Hundred Spires." This all-Mozart program includes Symphony No. 38, the Overture from Marriage of Figaro, plus arias from Cosi Fan Tutte and Don Giovanni with special guests Maria Antunez, oprano and Martin Nusspaumer, tenor. 6:30pm - 10:00pm Auction - Champions Ballroom at the Harbour Town Club in Sea Pines - The black-tie optional event will feature cocktails, dinner, dancing, a silent auction throughout the evening as well as a brief live auction. The annual benefit raises money to serve cancer patients in our community, fund programs of early detection and prevention in the greater Hilton Head Island area and fund clinical research on the national level. Local programs that have been funded include the Reach to Recovery program, Patient Services room, Look Good, Feel Better and the Hope Lodge. Most everyone knows too well the consequences of losing someone to cancer. But, there is hope now. Giant steps are being taken to “find the cure” and celebrate more birthdays. The Winter Benefit helps support those working to “find a cure” so we can better serve cancer patients locally. Tickets are $175 per person.
