Junior Heritage Golf Tournament

The Junior Heritage Golf Tournament has a history of world-class golf with a list of champions that includes Paula Creamer, Charles Howell III, Brittany Lang, Sean O'Hair, Kyle Stanley and Alexis Thompson. This year's two-day tournament will feature some of the country's finest junior golfers playing at The Sea Pines Resort: Heron Point by Pete Dye course on the 2nd and Harbour Town Golf Links on the 3rd.

Birding at Honey Horn

Ongoing throughout February, 2014

7:30am - 9:30am -Led by an experienced bird watcher, the mud flats, open fields and salt water marshes allows participants to see many different species of birds at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. Several species of shore birds can usually be seen in the mud flats in the salt marsh, while many species of wading birds could potentially be seen around the marsh and open fields. Space is limited to 15 (ages 12 and older). Participants are asked to bring their own binoculars and the program will be canceled in case of rain. The program is $ 12.00 per person and reservations are required by visiting

Cooks & Books Culinary Celebration

The palate-pleasing combination of signature food tastings from top local restaurants will be paired with well-known Lowcountry authors and topped with an exciting “The Heat Is On” chefs’ competition at Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry’s 6th Annual Winter Fundraiser, COOKS & BOOKS, on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa. The Westin is COOKS & BOOKS’ Presenting Sponsor. Coordinated by LVL’s Friends of Literacy fund-raising group, COOKS & BOOKS promises to be an afternoon of culinary delights and entertainment. Sonny Dixon of WTOC-TV Channel 11 in Savannah will serve as master of ceremonies. Admission to Cooks & Books is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
